Please tell me a bit about yourself

My background is in recruiting for accounting and finance. I was in my previous position for a number of years and whilst I enjoyed the role, my territory was only in Greater Manchester. I felt the time was right for me to challenge myself and further develop my own career. Working with Applica will allow me to learn a whole new industry and work internationally.

What is your role and what do you do?

I’m a recruitment consultant focused on engineering. The positions I’m looking after at the moment are project engineer roles within decommissioning in the North Sea, senior piping engineer roles in Norway, and some lead rotating equipment engineer roles in the UK.

What do enjoy most about working with Applica?
I really enjoy the trust and responsibility that I’ve been given from the start. It’s a global company so I’m speaking to so many different people which I really enjoy. It’s a flexible place to work which I value.

How do you think Applica can help achieve Net Zero?

As a business we look at the whole project and having sight of this means that we can streamline the process of recruitment. We get the right people into the right jobs faster. We also understand that many of the skills from ‘traditional’ energy roles can be used in renewable energy so we are able to fill the current skilled roles with talent that is in high demand.

Why did you choose to work with Applica?

Applica gives me the chance to learn and different industry, it’s international, it’s growing massively which is really appealing and exciting. I love the team, the culture and the personalities!

Tell me something not many people know about you
Most people know that I’m a massive football fan, I watch it, listen to it and play it. What they might not know is that my retirement plan is to travel the world to watch as many games in as many different stadiums around the world as possible!

My team is Oldham Athletic but I literally love watching any and all teams.
