Please tell me a bit about yourself

I’m from Galway in Ireland, moved to Manchester 2014. I began my career working in the hospitality industry for a number of years and then moved into recruitment where in one form or another I have been working in compliance for the past decade; firstly, as an onboarding coordinator, an administrator, Auditor and then I was promoted to operations compliance manager.

What is your role and what do you do?

I’m the operations manager for Applica. I look after compliance which essentially means I make sure we are fully compliant with all government legislation including the right to work and identity document validation technology (IDVT) for example. I ensure all legal documents we produce are compliant and that we are following the client requirements, including contracts of employment and checking workers documents. I advise the team on legislation changes and implement these changes in the business.

Why did you choose to work with Applica?

Working with Applica is such a great opportunity for me. It’s a big role and one which I am really enjoying. From the very start I have been listened to and my ideas to streamline processes have been taken on board and adopted.

The whole team is very supportive. It’s a really great culture.

What do enjoy most about working with Applica?
I am trusted to do my role and allowed to do it to the best of my ability. It’s an incredibly exciting time for me professionally.

Everyone is so friendly and supportive. I feel like I have been here for years!

Tell me something not many people know about you

Haven’t grown since I was 12 due to a slipped hip!
